fortune Hunting

This project create an interactive experience that explores the role of superstition in digital society. Inspired by the popular trend of sharing "koi fish" on Chinese social media for good fortune, this project examines the relationship between superstition and technology. Despite living in a tech-driven era, it is intriguing how these ancient and superstitious beliefs remain steadfast. As we traverse the cyber landscape, superstitions undeniably influence our digital psyche.

While luck is a force that provides comfort during hardships, its interplay with commercial exploitation can lead to ethical dilemmas.

This project follows the online trend of transforming the concept of "luck" into a portable digital token. It explores how this token impacts collective behavior, herd mentality, and anonymity, creating a virtual space known as "digital luck". Capitalism plays a role in controlling the creation and distribution of these digital symbols, giving them influence over public behavior.

Time Infinite

The notion of pause is the most frequently discussed topic during the pandemic —pauses in life, social activities, and time itself. The design compresses each year of these 20 years into a transparent glass block, akin to collecting "time specimens" using cover slips in biology class. This abstraction of collective emotions results in a transparent block with a faint red hue. These red blocks, symbolizing time specimens, are then floated in the Xintiandi plaza. Through these silent objects, the design expresses the flow of time. Each block represents a human-assigned time node, while the world's events also bestow unique memories onto time. As visitors navigate through the installation, their perceptions are influenced by their own memories, making each visitor's experience unique.

Kio Fish

Nowadays millions of people repost Kio Fish on the internet to pray for the good luck. All this activity is decentralised, and I would like to create a centralism institution for the Koi Fish Belief. Koi fish is only a symbol of lucky, and now it was already like a brand. I use the giant authority idea in cyberpunk world, it calculate all the related activity about Koi Fish on Internet and creating a Hologram Koi Fish in the sky of bund this institution is mechanical and authority is hidden bake to this machine. The depression, stress, desire, pression of the people all can be fed by this Hologram Koi fish.

To think more, is like maybe one day computer, artificial intelligence can create some symbol that billions of people believe and following it. And how the world will become.

AMUSEMENT RUINS

This project is based on the contrast of the modern amusement with the historical solemn.

As a cathedral city the site has a journey which absorb community the way to the Cathedral. The atmosphere of this journey has already transformed by the entertainment culture penetrating into the social world. The theatre building is no longer central to the issue of theatre but happen in the street corner. This kind of amusing atmosphere also weaken the solemn of Lincoln.

Reflect to this trend, I was taken the idea of ‘Fun Palace’ which taking visitors on a journey through carefully cultivated stages, reframing the city as a miniature would and recreation of community. This project is aiming to using the method of scenography to create a dynamic space that generates a narrative of performance and how can stage community. Furthermore, this ‘Fun Palace’ will became another iconic or hyperreality building instead of Lincoln Cathedral to reflect the social transfer from religion to entertainment.

The Venice Syndrome

Our mental image of Venice before arriving is an expectation that is never fulfilled. This syndrome draws parallels with the Paris Syndrome, a condition that arises from expectations never experienced in the city and leads to disappointment. Similarly, the Venice Syndrome affects the city and the lagoon landscape. The city's image projects itself onto the landscape of the lagoon, like a shadow from which it's impossible to break free. This shadow-image projects an hallucination of Venice onto the Falconera Island.

pixel city

Pixel City is designed with the idea of creating a city for a digital world. The concept is that the original element of digital is simple geometries. The final result always makes people forget that the starting basic element is only a cube or sphere. Therefore, I try to reveal the aesthetics of geometries, through a careful, elaborate, and ingenious arrangement in an abstractive way.

thread

Chess Ihas movement system and logic, played by two person just like having a mind conversation through movement between one point to another. When we move a piece, we draw a line using the thread attached to the piece. The thread goes around the pin in the initial point before we can put it on top of the pin in the next move.

In one round play, we have layers of thread system. And the next round play will create a new layer, lay on top of the previous one. And this thread appreciate Human algorithm.
